Campbell Scott

Born: Jul 19, 1961

The second son of George C. Scott and Colleen Dewhurst, Campbell Scott has begun to carve out an impressive acting career for himself. After appearing in many Broadway and offBroadway productions, Scott made his film debut in Five Corners (1988), then drew raves for his performance in Longtime Companion (1990) as Willy, a homosexual who watches his friends ravaged by AIDS. He had roles in The Sheltering Sky (1990), Dead Again (1991), and his first lead, as a dying recluse in Dying Young (1991, opposite Julia Roberts). Singles (1992) provided his most lighthearted (and likable) showcase to date; it was followed by Mrs. Parker and the Vicious Circle (also 1994), in which he played Robert Benchley, and The Innocent (1995).
