Corey Ian Haim was born December 23, 1972 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Haim started in TV commercials at 10, and made his film debut in the 1984 thriller Firstborn One year later, he was featured in Murphy's Romance (1985) and later that year in a TV movie playing the role of Liza Minnelli's dying son. Haim, already skilled at projecting vulnerability, played a lovesick highschool freshman in Lucas (1986), a modest little sleeper that enjoyed greater success in home video. He fought vampire teens in The Lost Boys and went joyriding in License to Drive. Most of his films are teen oriented and many have been released directly to video. In the 90s, he played characters that still made use of his young looks. He is now outgrowing that typecast.
