Douglas Sills was born in Detroit, Michigan.
He is most famous on Broadway for creating the role of Percy in Frank Wildhorn's "The Scarlet Pimpernel" which he played on Broadway and in the National Tour.
He was a 1997 Tony nominee Best Lead Actor in a Musical for "The Scarlet Pimpernel"
He was nominated for Broadway's 1998 Tony Award as Best Actor (Musical) for playing the title character in "The Scarlet Pimpernel."
He was as originally cast in the Broadway musical, Spamalot, as Galahad, the role played by Christopher Sieber.
He won the 2000 Theatre LA Ovation Award for Lead Actor in a Musical - "The Scarlet Pimpernel"
He plays David O. Selznick in "Moonlight and Magnolias" play by Ron Hutchinson (Manhattan Theatre Club, New York City, New York, USA).
