Born in Brooklyn, NY and raised in Las Vegas, NV, Kimmel began his career in morning radio. Fired from stations in Phoenix, Seattle, Tampa, and Tucson, Kimmel's luck finally changed as "Jimmy the Sports Guy" on KROQ-FM Los Angeles' "Kevin and Bean Show." While at KROQ, Kimmel met friend and future "Man Show" co-host adam carolla.
In 1997, Kimmel became co-host of Comedy Central's game show "Win Ben Stein's Money." For three seasons Kimmel co-hosted the show, winning an Emmy for Best Game Show Host in 1999. Until recently, Jimmy Kimmel also served as on-air prognosticator for FOX. As part of "Fox NFL Sunday," he makes game predictions and relentlessly mocks announcers Terry Bradshaw and Howie Long. Kimmel's record over the last three years is the best of any sports personality on television.
Jimmy Kimmel teamed up with fellow "Man Show" creators Adam Carolla and Daniel Kellison for another TV show on Comedy Central, Crank Yankers, in which actual crank calls become the basis for a twisted town inhabited solely by puppets.
Recently Jimmy Kimmel began hosting "Jimmy Kimmel Live," the latest entry in the late night talk show wars.
